The Institute for Development and Civic Initiative is recognized as one of the first organizations in Albania to engage in the protection of patients' rights.

IZHIQ zbaton projekte që kanë në fokus të saj:
Continuous cooperation with central and local health and human rights institutions in order to increase the quality of health services and increase access to them, especially for vulnerable groups;
Exerting constant pressure on the institutions responsible for increasing transparency in policy-making and the distribution and spending of funds made available to this sector;
Monitoring the implementation of health policies to ensure the effectiveness of services;
Informing, promoting, raising awareness of patients about their rights and the ways and means that can and should be used when neglected, any of these rights are violated;
Investigating, investigating and setting in motion institutional and legal mechanisms to protect the right of particular patients to quality and guaranteed health care.
